Malaysia has recorded 2,881 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 411,594. There are 15 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 411,594.

The Ministry of Health has reported 15 new recoveries and a total of 1,521 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 92.43% while the mortality rate remains at 0.37%.

There are currently 29,631 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 337 are in ICU while 176 require respiratory support.

Out of the 2,881 new cases today, 16 are imported while 2,865 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 759 cases, followed by Sarawak with 445 cases, Kelantan with 442 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 315 cases.

A total of 14 new clusters have been identified today and 4 are education-related. Below is the list of newly identified COVID-19 clusters in Malaysia:

A total of 80 clusters have recorded new cases today. The Pagar Sri Lalang cluster recorded the most with 78 cases, followed by Jalan Kempas Satu cluster with 62 cases and Long Jegan cluster with 51 cases.

Health D-G Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has expressed concerns about the critical hospital utilisation in the Klang Valley due to the rising number of cases. As shown in the chart above, usage of hospital beds for COVID-19 cases is reaching its maximum capacity and it would affect the delivery of healthcare services.
