COVID-19: It’s over 3,000 cases today, Selangor tops the list with 1,019 new cases

Malaysia has recorded 3,142 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 401,598. This is the first time Malaysia records over 3,000 cases in a day since 25th February 2021. There are 15 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,477.

There are 1,822 new recoveries today and a total of 373,397 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate has dipped to 92.98% while the mortality rate remains at 0.37%.

There are 26,719 active cases remaining with 306 people in ICU and 151 of them require respiratory support. Out of the 3,142 new cases reported today, 13 are imported while 3,129 are transmitted locally.

Selangor recorded the most today with 1,019 cases, followed by Kelantan with 523 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 440 cases and Sarawak with 416 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 12 new clusters today and 4 are education-related clusters. Below is the list of newly identified COVID-19 clusters in the country.

A total of 68 clusters have recorded new cases today. The Pulai Chondong cluster recorded 66 new cases, followed by Pintu Air Relau with 30 cases and Layar Hujung cluster with 22 new cases.
