COVID-19: 1,767 new cases today, Sarawak tops the list with 607 cases

Malaysia has recorded 1,767 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 363,940. There are 12 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,345.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,290 new recoveries and a total of 346,295 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 95.15% while the mortality rate is at 0.37%.

There are currently 16,300 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 199 are in ICU while 82 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,767 new cases today, 9 are imported while 1,758 are transmitted locally. Sarawak continues to record the most today with 607 new cases, followed by Selangor with 483 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 133 cases and Sabah with 117 cases.

According to the Ministry of Health, a total of 9 new clusters have been identified today and 4 are workplace related. Below is the list of new clusters identified:

A total of 62 clusters have recorded new cases today. The Persiaran Cybersouth construction site cluster recorded the most with 137 cases, followed by Jalan Puncak Borneo cluster with 60 new cases and Jalan Bambangan cluster with 47 new cases.
