Xiaomi’s ultimate flagship smartphone, the Mi 11 Ultra has finally arrived in Malaysia. The Snapdragon 888 powered device with a sophisticated camera setup will be available for pre-order starting this Friday
The Mi 11 Ultra is officially priced at RM4,299 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model. It will be available for pre-order at authorised Mi Stores in Malaysia as well as the official online store on Lazada and Shopee. The device is offered in Ceramic White and Ceramic Black.
The first 200 customers that register their Mi 11 Ultra will receive an exclusive Limited Edition Mi Fans Gift Set which include one Limited Edition Mi Bunny Keychain (with custom name engraving) and one Limited Editon MFF 2021 T-Shirt.
The Mi 11 Ultra features a 6.81″ Quad HD+ AMOLED display that pushes a 120Hz refresh rate and a 480Hz touch sampling rate. It runs on a 5nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 mobile platform that supports 5G connectivity. The device is configured with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage which isn’t expandable.
The main highlight is its huge camera bump at the rear that features a 50MP main camera with a large 1/1.12″ image sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 48MP telephoto camera that offers 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom and 120x digital zoom. The main camera was also given the highest score ever on DxOMark Mobile at 143 points, beating the Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ by 4 points.
What’s unique is that the rear camera bump also houses a 1.1″ AMOLED always-on display that can be used for taking selfies or to display notification alerts. The front punch-hole on the front screen houses a 20MP front camera.
Like the “standard” Mi 11, the Ultra also gets a pair of stereo speakers that are tuned by Harman Kardon. The device gets a large 5,000mAh battery which supports 67W fast wireless and fast wired charging via USB-C.
At RM4,299, this is currently the most expensive Xiaomi smartphone in Malaysia and it’s RM1,300 more than the Mi 11 with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage.
