Besides the attention grabbing Mi 11 Ultra, Xiaomi has also introduced its Mi 11 Lite smartphone. This is their premium mid-range offering that’s 6.81mm thin and weighs 157 grams.
Pricing and availability
The Mi 11 Lite is officially priced at RM1,199 in Malaysia and it will go on sale from the 6th April 2021. This is the 4G version and it comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage. The device will be available at all authorised Mi Stores throughout Malaysia. It comes in 3 colours – Boba Black, Peach Pink and Bubblegum Blue.
The first 500 customers to get the Mi 11 Lite will get a set of Xiaomi ecosystem products worth over RM500 while stocks last. This includes the Mi Ionic Hair Dryer (RRP: RM179), Mi True Wireless Earbud Basic 2 (RRP: RM89) and Mi Watch Lite (RRP: RM249).
Hardware Specs
The Mi 11 Lite (4G) version gets a 6.55″ Full HD+ AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 5. It pushes a high 90Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. Although it uses an AMOLED screen, the device comes with an side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Under the hood, it runs on a Snapdragon 732G processor, which is the same unit that’s powering the Poco X3 NFC. As a comparison, the Mi 11 Lite 5G variant gets a newer Snapdragon 780G processor. The device uses LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.
In the camera department, the rear gets a similar looking camera bump as the Mi 11. It gets a triple-camera setup that consists of a 64MP f/1.79 main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 5MP telemacro camera. Upfront, the tiny punch-hole houses a 16MP selfie shooter.
Like most new Xiaomi devices, the Mi 11 Lite also features dual audio speakers and it also support Hi-Res Audio. If you prefer to use wired headphones, the device still comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack. In terms of connectivity, it supports WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.1 and dual-frequency GPS.
Despite its slim profile, the device still manages to pack a respectable 4,250mAh battery. As a comparison, the iPhone 12 is 7.4mm thin and it packs a smaller 2,815mAh battery. Meanwhile, the Vivo X60 is also 7.4mm thin but it has a 4,300mAh battery.
The Mi 11 Lite also supports 33W fast-charging via USB-C and Xiaomi is also including the 33W charger in the box. The device runs on Android 11 with MIUI 12 skin on top.
If you need more performance, you can top up a little bit more for the Poco X3 Pro or the Poco F3. However, the two Poco devices are significantly heavier and thicker than the Mi 11 Lite.
