COVID-19: New cases rise to 1,133 today, 401 reported in Selangor

Malaysia has recorded 1,133 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 344,018. There are 5 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,265.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,148 new recoveries and a total of 328,554 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 95.50% while the mortality rate is at 0.37%.

There are currently 14,199 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 161 are in ICU while 76 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,133 new cases today, 8 are imported while 1,125 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 401 new cases, followed by Pulau Pinang with 194 cases, Sarawak with 153 new cases and Johor with 96 new cases.
