COVID-19: 1,302 new cases today, Sarawak tops the list with 426 cases reported

Malaysia has recorded 1,302 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 341,944. There are 4 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,255.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,127 new recoveries and a total of 326,309 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 95.43% while the mortality rate is at 0.37%.

There are currently 14,308 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 169 are in ICU while 76 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,302 new cases today, 9 are imported while 1,293 are transmitted locally. Sarawak recorded the most with 426 new cases, followed by Selangor with 256 cases, Pulau Pinang with 212 cases and Johor with 176 cases. 

The Ministry of Health has identified 3 new clusters today. This include Ladang Sungai Pelek cluster in Selangor, Patek cluster in Kelantan and Pagar Bukit Chagar cluster in Johor. A total of 60 clusters have recorded new cases today. The Semuja immigration detention cluster in Sarawak recorded the most with 191 new cases, followed by Pagar Bukit Chagar cluster with 52 cases and Teknologi Bukit Minyak cluster with 45 new cases.
