OnePlus has also unveiled its first smartwatch during the launch of the OnePlus 9 series. Dubbed as the OnePlus Watch, it looks inspired by the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active series with its minimalist slim design and smooth circular watch face.

In the US, the OnePlus Watch retails for USD 159 (about RM655) which is quite reasonably. Upfront, it gets a 1.39″ AMOLED display that pushes a 454×454 pixels resolution for a high 326ppi pixel density. It gets a 46mm 316L stainless steel body which has two physical buttons on the right.

The watch is offered in Moonlight Silver and Midnight Black, and by default, it ships with a replaceable Fluoroelastomer strap. The Watch is expected to be available starting in mid-April, however, there’s still no availability details yet for Malaysia.

OnePlus has also teased a Cobalt limited edition model which uses Cobalt alloy that claims to have twice the hardness of stainless steel. For greater durability, the limited edition model also comes with sapphire glass that’s “virtually unscratchable”.

The Watch comes with a host of sensors including acceleration, gyroscope, geomagnetic, optical heart rate with blood oxygen sensor (SpO2), ambient light, air pressure and capacitance. There’s also built-in GPS which also supports GLONASS, Galileo and Beidou.

For fitness tracking, it comes with over 110 workout modes built-in. You can also take it for a swim as it is rated for 5ATM (50 metres) and IP68. It also gets a built-in speaker and microphone. Another cool feature is the ability to automatically switch off a OnePlus TV after 30 minutes when it detects that you fall asleep.

Onboard it has 4GB of storage which can be used to store up to 500 songs. This allows you to enjoy your favourite tracks directly to your Bluetooth headphones without bringing a smartphone.

On a single charge, the OnePlus Watch is rated to last up to 14 days with typical use or up to 5 days with sleep blood oxygen monitoring enabled. It is also rated to last up to 25 hours with continuous exercise with GPS enabled. To replenish the power quickly, it also supports “Warp Charge” which pushes 7 days worth of power with just a quick 20-minute charge on a 2 pogo-pin charging dock.

The Watch works not only with OnePlus smartphones but also other Android devices running on version 6.0 and above. In terms of connectivity, it supports Bluetooth 5.0. Unfortunately, it isn’t supported for iOS devices. Like most typical smartwatch, you can view your phone notifications, answer calls and remotely manage your music or video playback.
