COVID-19: 1,384 new cases today, almost half reported in Selangor

Malaysia has recorded 1,384 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 335,540. There are 6 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,244.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,058 new recoveries and a total of 319,842 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 95.32% while the mortality rate is still 0.37%.

There are currently 14,454 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 148 are in ICU while 62 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,384 new cases today, 9 are imported while 1,375 are transmitted locally. Selangor reported the most with 625 cases, followed by Johor with 161 cases, Sarawak with 140 cases and Pulau Pinang with 100 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 3 new clusters today. This include Balakong Jaya Dua cluster in Selangor, Jalan Indah Gemilang Satu cluster in Johor and Teknologi Bukit Minyak cluster in Pulau Pinang.

A total of 54 clusters have recorded new cases today. The Kluster Subang Dua cluster recorded the most with 185 new cases, followed by Jalan Indah Gemilang Satu cluster with 73 new cases and Tanjung Suria cluster with 63 new cases.
