Singapore Flyer turned into Captain America’s shield to promote Disney+

While we’re still here waiting for Disney+ to show up in Malaysia, Disney+ used the Singapore Flyer to promote their new Marvel show The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. The observation wheel was made to look like Captain America’s iconic shield, and it was projected on 20 March 2021.

Singapore isn’t the only place where Captain America’s shield was projected. The same mode of promotion was projected on several other known structures in different countries.

They include Torre Latino in Mexico, Planetario in Argentina, Melbourne Star in Australia, La Grande Roue de Marseille in France, LunEur Flywheel in Italy, MAAG Hall in Switzerland, and The London Eye in the UK.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is a 6-part miniseries which follows the events of Avengers: Endgame. Both the Falcon and the Winter Soldier team up in a global adventure that ‘tests their abilities and patience’.

All of this would make anyone in Malaysia who’s waiting for Disney+ feel a little jealous. The streaming platform is not yet available in the country—the only glimmer of hope we have is that a verified Instagram account for “Disneyplushotstarmy” went live before it disappeared in January.
