COVID-19: New cases jump to 1,576 today, Sarawak records the most with 407 cases

Malaysia has recorded 1,576 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 330,042. There are 2 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,225.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,996 new recoveries and a total of 314,457 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 95.28% while the mortality rate is at 0.37%.

There are currently 14,360 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 151 are in ICU while 57 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,576 new cases today, 11 are imported while 1,565 are transmitted locally. Sarawak recorded the most with 407 cases, followed by Selangor with 348 cases, Pulau Pinang with 182 new cases and Kuala Lumpur with 175 cases.
