The ROG Phone 5 is the latest gaming smartphone from Asus and you can pre-order the device in Malaysia starting this Friday, 19th March 2021. It boasts a fluid 144Hz display and a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. It can be yours with a starting price of RM2,999.
Pre-order details
The standard ROG Phone 5 version will be made available first and it can be configured up to 16GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Below is the official pricing for the two models that will be available for pre-order soon:
8GB RAM + 128GB storage – RM2,999
16GB RAM + 256GB storage – RM3,799
Asus Malaysia is also bundling a free Kunai 3 Gamepad worth RM499 for every pre-order. According to them, there will be a total of 400 units (200 units for each variant) available during the pre-order period which will run from 19 March until 2nd April 2021.

Hardware specs
To recap on the specs, the ROG Phone 5 features a 6.78″ Full HD+ Super AMOLED display that boasts 1,200 nits brightness and a 144Hz refresh rate. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
In terms of cameras, it gets a 64MP main shooter, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 5MP macro camera. For selfies, the front gets a 24MP selfie shooter.
The device also features front-facing stereo speakers and it still comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack. There’s also shoulder air triggers which provides additional controls for your mobile games.
Powering the gaming device is a large 6,000mAh battery which supports Quick Charge 5.0 and Asus HyperCharge fast charging protocols. Included is a 65W wired charger. Unlike the Pro and Ultimate models, the standard model gets an RGB illuminated ROG logo that comes in a dot matrix design.
