COVID-19: 1,208 new cases today, new record low in 2021

Malaysia has recorded 1,208 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 324,971. There are 3 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,213.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,973 new recoveries and a total of 308,247 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 94.86% while the mortality rate is now 0.37%.

There are currently 15,511 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 155 are in ICU while 70 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,208 new cases today, 9 are imported while 1,199 are transmitted locally. Selangor reported the most with 379 cases, followed by Sarawak with 251 cases, Pulau Pinang with 142 cases and Johor with 118 cases.

The Ministry has identified 13 new clusters and 12 are workplace related. Below is the list of new clusters:

A total of 56 clusters have recorded new cases today. The Tanjung Suria cluster recorded the most with 29 new cases, followed by Ladang Bukit with 29 new cases and Jalan Mega Lima cluster with 22 new cases.
