COVID-19: 1,683 new cases and 3 deaths today, current recovery rate is 93.14%

Malaysia has recorded 1,683 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 313,460. There are 3 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,169.

The Ministry of Health has reported 2,506 new recoveries and a total of 291,958 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 93.14% while the mortality rate is now 0.37%.

There are currently 20,333 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 174 are in ICU while 81 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,683 new cases today, 10 are imported while 1,673 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 746 cases, followed by Sarawak with 201 cases, Pulau Pinang with 172 cases and Johor with 158 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 8 new clusters today which include two detention centres. Below is the list of newly identified clusters:

A total of 68 clusters have recorded new cases. The Perusahaan 10 cluster recorded the most with 55 cases, followed by Industri Subang cluster with 44 cases and Kemuning Enam cluster with 44 cases.
