Malaysia has recorded 1,680 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 311,777. There are 7 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,166.
The Ministry of Health has reported 2,548 new recoveries and a total of 289,452 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 92.84% while the mortality rate is now 0.37%.
There are currently 21,159 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 172 are in ICU while 84 require respiratory support.
Out of the 1,680 new cases today, 3 are imported while 1,677 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 826 cases, followed by Sarawak with 221 cases and Johor with 139 cases
The Ministry of Health has identified 4 new clusters today and 3 are workplace related. This include Lagoon Selatan cluster in Selangor, Jalan Firma Dua cluster in Johor, Jalan Haji Malek cluster in Melaka and Bukit Tunggal cluster in Sarawak.
A total of 72 clusters have recorded new COVID-19 cases today. The Jalan Zamrud cluster recorded the most with 64 cases, followed by Jalan Muhibbah cluster with 31 new cases and Jalan Pelabuhan cluster with 31 new cases.
