COVID-19: 2,063 new cases today, Sarawak and Penang record over 300 cases each

Malaysia has recorded 2,063 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 307,943. There are 5 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,153.

The Ministry of Health has reported 2,992 new recoveries and a total of 283,629 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 92.10% while the mortality rate is 0.38%.

There are currently 23,161 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 193 are in ICU while 99 require respiratory support.

Out of the 2,063 new cases today, 2,054 are imported while 9 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 630 new cases, followed by Sarawak with 361 cases, Pulau Pinang with 337 cases and Johor with 255 cases.
