After announcing the flagship Mi 11 series, Xiaomi will soon introduce its latest mid-range Redmi Note series. The Redmi Note 10 will be officially announced this week and here’s how you can watch the launch.
According to Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 10 series launch is happening at 8pm on Thursday, 4th March 2021. You can watch it on the Xiaomi Malaysia Facebook page. We don’t have any pricing details yet but hopefully Xiaomi will provide some indication during the launch event.
Ahead of the launch, Xiaomi India Vice President and Managing Director Manu Kumar has dropped a couple of teasers for the upcoming mid-range smartphone. The Redmi Note 10 will feature a high 120Hz refresh rate which is somewhat similar to the Poco X3 NFC. According to the teaser website, the new device boasts 2x brightness and it will come with Gorilla Glass.
In terms of design, the camera bump looks somewhat similar to the Mi 10T series. From what we can see, it looks like a quad-camera device and the front display has a tiny punch-hole at the top.
Based on early leaks, the standard Redmi Note 10 model is expected to come with a 6.43″ AMOLED display and it will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 678 processor. The non-Pro model will get a quad-camera setup which will include a lower resolution 48MP main shooter.
Keeping the lights on is said to be a huge 5,000mAh battery and it also supports 33W fast charging via USB-C. Similar to the current Redmi Note 9 series, we expect Xiaomi to retain a 3.5mm headphone jack and microSD card expansion slot.
For the higher-spec Redmi Note 10 Pro, the device is expected to come with a more powerful Snapdragon 732G processor. Looking at the specs, this could be a direct challenger to the Poco X3 NFC but it all depends on the actual pricing when it lands here. The Poco X3 NFC is officially priced from RM899 for the base 6GB RAM + 64GB storage model, while the 128GB version is listed for RM1,099.
