COVID-19: New cases dip to 2,192 today, Malaysia has 32,076 active cases remaining

Malaysia has recorded 2,192 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 285,761. There are 6 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,062.

The Ministry of Health has reported 3,414 new recoveries and a total of 252,623 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 88.40% while the mortality rate is at 0.37%.

There are currently 32,076 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 199 are in ICU while 91 require respiratory support. Malaysia has been recording more recoveries than new cases for 12 consecutive days.

Out of the 2,192 new cases today, 3 are imported while 2,189 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 910 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 303 cases, Sarawak with 221 cases and Johor with 211 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified a total of 8 new clusters today and 7 of them are workplace related. Below is the list of new COVID-19 clusters:

A total of 99 active clusters have recorded new COVID-19 cases today. The Sungai Putus cluster recorded the most with 186 new cases, followed by Jalan Pantai construction site cluster with 62 new cases and Jalan Cochrane cluster with 54 new cases.
