Malaysia has recorded 2,712 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 274,875. There are 25 new deaths reported which is a new record high and the death toll is now 1,030.
The Ministry of Health has reported 5,320 new recoveries and a total of 235,082 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 85.52% while the mortality rate is at 0.38%.
There are currently 38,763 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 227 are in ICU while 103 require respiratory support.
Out of the 2,712 new cases today, 4 are imported while 2,708 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,013 new cases, followed by Johor with 426 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 212 cases and Sarawak with 200 cases.
The Ministry of Health has identified 17 new clusters today and 14 are workplace related. Below is the list of the new clusters:
A total of 94 clusters have recorded new cases today. The Kebun Baru cluster recorded the most with 188 cases, followed by Changkat Jong cluster with 158 cases and Selambau cluster with 155 cases.
