The ongoing pandemic has normalised the practice of remote working and distance learning, increasing the amount screen time we are all exposed to. BenQ recently launched the ScreenBar and ScreenBar Plus monitor lights that said to reduce headaches and eye strain from prolonged computer usage.

The main difference between the two models is the regular ScreenBar has onboard controls whereas the ScreenBar Plus has an additional desktop dial.

The ScreenBar Plus’ dial has several functions with the ability to adjust the brightness and hues levels. There is also an auto-dimming feature that uses the ambient light sensor on the dial to automatically adjust the brightness to an optimal level.

The ScreenBar lights feature an aluminium alloy body and feature a non-slip hanging design that allows it to be attached to the top of any monitor. BenQ says the ScreenBar outputs at 1,000 lux, which is bright enough to illuminate your work desk and is angled in a way that it doesn’t shine on the screen, avoiding any reflective glare when using the computer.

The lamp consists of a long strip of LEDs that offers 14 adjustable levels of brightness and 8 preset colour temperature levels (between 2,700 – 6,500K). This allows users to set the lamp to their preferred level of brightness and hue for their viewing comfort.

Besides that, the two ScreenBar models are USB-powered, thus eliminating the need for a separate power outlet. They also do not require a lot of power and only only consume 5W of power via a USB port on your PC or monitor.

According to BenQ, the ScreenBar models should last up to 50,000 hours before they need to be replaced. Both models also come with two years warranty that is covered by BenQ Malaysia.

Both the ScreenBar and ScreenBar Plus are available in Malaysia and are priced at RM599 and RM828 respectively. You can buy them online via BenQ’s official store on Lazada.
