Xiaomi’s Mi 360 Home Security Camera 2K Pro has arrived in Malaysia

Xiaomi Malaysia has announced its Mi 360° Home Security Camera 2K Pro. It promises to offer higher image quality compared to its current Home Security Camera 360 that records at 1080p. Similar to the Realme 360 smart cam, the new camera is more compact and you can physically cover the camera lens for greater privacy when not in use.

Pricing and availability

The Mi 360° Home Security Camera 2K Pro is officially priced at RM219 in Malaysia. It will be available online from the 14th February on the official online store on Lazada and Shopee. Alternatively, you can also purchase it at all authorised Mi Stores and retailers in Malaysia from the 16th February 2021.

Hardware Specs and Features

The 360 Home Security Camera 2K Pro features a 3MP sensor that can record videos at 2304 × 1296 pixels resolution. It is coupled with a f/1.4 large aperture and 6P lens for improved low-light performance. On top of that, the camera also offers an enhanced infrared night vision using 940nm infrared LEDs which claim to provide a full colour pallet in low light situations.

Since this is a 360-degree camera, it features a dual-axis pan-tilt-zoom motor that offers 360° horizontal and 118° vertical viewing angles. You can view your recording and live view via the Mi Home app which is available on both Android and iOS. The camera also gets a loudspeaker and a dual-mic setup with noise reduction which allows you to have a 2-way conversation.

To store the video recording, the camera has a slot for a microSD card which supports up to 32GB. You can also connect it to a NAS or opt for cloud-storage. According to Xiaomi, it uses a H.265 video encoding technology which uses 50% less storage and bandwidth compared to H.264 videos.

In terms of connectivity, it supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi and there’s also a built-in Bluetooth gateway which enables IoT connections with other smart devices in your home. The camera is powered via microUSB and it requires a 10W input (5V 2A). For more info, you can check out the global product page.
