COVID-19: 3,847 new cases and 12 deaths today, active cases now over 50,000

Malaysia has recorded 3,847 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 238,721. There are 12 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 857.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,692 new recoveries and a total of 186,970 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 78.3% while the mortality rate is at 0.4%.

There are currently 50,894 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 305 are in ICU while 139 require respiratory support.

Out of the 3,847 new cases today, 4 are imported while 3,843 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,481 cases, followed by Johor with 585 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 402 cases and Melaka with 329 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 12 new clusters today and 11 are workplace related. Below is the full list:

A total of 93 active clusters have recorded new COVID-19 cases today. The Industri Serkam cluster recorded the most with 257 cases, followed by Industri Kampung Baru cluster with 167 cases and Mayang Pasir cluster with 102 cases.
