COVID-19: New cases drop to 3,455, record high 21 new deaths reported today

Malaysia has recorded 3,455 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 222,628. There are 21 new deaths reported which is a new record high and the death toll is now 791.

The Ministry of Health has reported 3,661 new recoveries and a total of 173,990 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 78.2% while the mortality rate is 0.4%.

There are currently 47,847 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 327 are in ICU while 145 require respiratory support.

Out of the 3,455 new cases today, 5 are imported while 3,450 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,145 cases, followed by Johor with 708 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 619 cases and Sabah with 276 cases.
