5 camera features you have to try on the Galaxy S21 series

This post is brought to you by Samsung Malaysia.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 series features some of the most advanced camera features Samsung has put into a smartphone…ever. But, with so many features included, which ones should you check out first? Well, here’s a list of the five features you need to use to believe, on the Samsung Galaxy S21 series.

Space Zoom

Without seeing it in action, it can be hard to believe how incredible the Space Zoom capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy S21 series are. On the S21 and S21+ you can reach up to 30x zoom, which allows you to zoom further than but a handful of smartphones in the world right now.

But, to really have your mind blown, you need to check out the 100x Space Zoom on the Galaxy S21 Ultra. This year, Samsung has taken this technology to the next level. They’ve focused heavily on improving stability and quality of the zoom.

The result they’ve come up with is a sophisticated dual 10MP telephoto camera setup that utilises a 10X optical zoom dual-folded lens alongside a 10MP 3x telephoto camera. With this duo, Samsung says that you’ll get hyper detailed shots even at max zoom, and improved stability.

All you need to do is tap on the zoom toggles, select the 100x zoom option, and prepare to have your mind blown by the sheer amount of reach you can get with a smartphone camera you can fit in your pocket. What’s even more impressive is how stable the shot is even at that range, with the new telephoto system smoothing out your handshakes.

High Resolution Camera

Speaking of Super Resolution, the Galaxy S21 Ultra features one of the highest resolution cameras in the smartphone market. A jaw-dropping 108MP sensor offers you more detail than you probably know what to do with.

The new 108MP sensor features advanced remosaic processing technology that will give you images with more clarity and higher colour fidelity to boot. To access this, head on over to the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s camera app, tap on the aspect ratio toggle, and select 3:4 108MP.

Bright Night

When people say that the new Galaxy S21 series can see in the dark, they’re not that far off. With Bright Night, the Galaxy S21 series is taking full advantage of the incredible processing found on the smartphones to drastically improve low light shots.

These smartphones are capable of automatic multi-frame processing even in extreme low-light conditions to improve image quality and reduce noise. What’s more, the Galaxy S21 Ultra also uses nona-binning technology that combines nine adjacent pixels into one really big pixel for additional light sensitivity.

Probably the best part is just how easy it is to take these photos. All you need to do is switch to Night Mode in the camera app, point it at a dark scene, tap the shutter button, give it a second to process and there you have it. No complicated settings, just better low light photography.

Pro-grade Video

Moving on to the video end of the spectrum, the Galaxy S21 sees a big upgrade in the video recording capabilities. Now, all cameras on the Galaxy S21 series (including the telephoto and ultra-wide) are capable of shooting 4K video at 60fps.

This is significant because now when you want to switch between different lenses and perspectives, the smartphone doesn’t limit the resolution of your final video. On top of that, 8K recording is also making a return on the Galaxy S21 series so you can shoot, grab high resolution stills, and so much more on the crisp detail that is 8K.

Director’s View

To help you along with shooting videos on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, Samsung has included a new mode called Director’s View. This allows you to choose and control your angles with ease.

In Director’s View, all the cameras are on standby, playing a live feed from each into a small thumbnail that you can keep an eye on. Then, if you want to switch to it, just tap on the lens thumbnail that you want to instantly switch to it.

For vloggers, there’s also a version of this called Vlogger View which allows dual-recording with both the front and rear camera at the same time. You can also choose between split view and picture-in-picture (PIP) view, which is great for reaction shots.

The complete package

The advancements Samsung has made with their Galaxy S21 series are a blend of software and hardware, working together to bring you a leveled up experience. Alongside the next-gen hardware that powers this smartphone, including the Exynos 2100 processor, the Galaxy S21 series is truly one of the best flagship smartphones money can buy.

In anticipation of its arrival, Samsung is kicking off a promo campaign starting from 29th January to 31st March 2021. Customers who purchase any Galaxy S21 series will be entitled to receive a Galaxy Fit2, SmartTag and Wireless Charger Trio worth a total of RM697. Terms and conditions apply, while stocks last.
