Malaysia has recorded 3,680 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 194,114. It’s been two weeks since MCO 2.0 was enforced in several major states in Malaysia and the country has recorded more than 3,000 cases daily for two straight weeks. There are 7 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 707.
The Ministry of Health has reported 1,858 new recoveries and a total of 151,018 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 77.8% while the mortality rate is 0.4%.
There are currently 42,389 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 314 are in ICU while 122 require respiratory support.
Out of the 3,680 new cases today, 6 are imported while 3,674 are transmitted locally. Johor recorded the most with 1,069 cases, followed by Selangor with 822 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 698 and Sabah with 295 cases.
The Ministry of Health has identified 17 new clusters and below is the full list:
A total of 80 active clusters have recorded new COVID-19 cases today and the top 3 clusters are newly identified. Parit Lanjut cluster in Johor recorded the most with 521 cases, followed by the Persiaran Tecoma construction site cluster with 157 cases and Industri Grisek cluster with 144 cases.
