2021 is meant to be the year for Samsung’s Exynos division to bounce back after it received backlash for last year’s Exynos 990. Their new 5nm Exynos 2100 chip which made its debut on the Galaxy S21 appears to be comparable in terms of performance with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888.
According to reliable leakster Ice Universe, the Korean tech giant is expected to release its new SoCs which will integrate AMD GPUs around Q2 or Q3 of 2021. This will include the high-end Exynos 2xxx and a mid-tier Exynos 1xxx series.
Ahead of the release, the purported GFXBench results of the new Exynos chip was leaked online via ITHome and it revealed some impressive numbers. When compared to Apple’s current 5nm A14 Bonic chip, the new Exynos just outpaces it by a significant margin. Below are the alleged benchmark results:

The new Exynos chip scored 24% higher FPS in Manhattan test and almost double the FPS for the Aztec tests. It should be noted that there’s no screenshots to back the claims but the new Exynos is expected to gain significantly in the graphics department with the AMD GPU.
Even if it’s real, it isn’t clear when exactly will Samsung use the new chips on its next flagship devices. Traditionally, the Galaxy Note series often use the same chip as the Galaxy S series. We reckon that even if the new Exynos with AMD GPU is announced later this year, Apple would have released a more powerful A15 chip for its upcoming iPhone 13.
