COVID-19: 3,585 new cases and 4,076 new recoveries today, total active cases dip to 40,574

Malaysia has recorded 3,585 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 190,434. There are 11 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 700.

The Ministry of Health has reported 4,076 new recoveries and a total of 149,160 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 78.3% while the mortality rate is 0.4%.

There are currently 40,574 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 280 are in ICU while 111 require respiratory support.

Out of the 3,585 new COVID-19 cases today, 2 are imported while 3,583 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,295 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 610 cases, Johor with 516 cases, Sabah with 303 cases and Sarawak with 205 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 7 new clusters today. This include Jalan Cochrane cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Platinum cluster in Johor, Intan Delima cluster in Negeri Sembilan, Jalan Padi Mahsuri cluster in Johor, Kampung Bukit Putera cluster in Terengganu, Keladi Saga cluster in Kedah and Tembok Bukit Besi cluster in Terengganu.

A total of 95 clusters have recorded new cases today. The Pasai cluster recorded the most with 111 new cases, followed by Seri Bayu cluster with 61 new cases and the newly identified Jalan Platinum cluster with 33 new cases.
