COVID-19: 3,346 new cases and 4,427 recoveries today, active cases drop to 41,677

Malaysia has recorded 3,346 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 183,801. There are 11 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 678.

The Ministry of Health has reported 4,427 new recoveries, which is a new record high in a day and a total of 141,446 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 77% while the mortality rate is now 0.37%.

There are currently 41,677 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 265 are in ICU while 102 require respiratory support.

Out of the 3,346 new cases today, 7 are imported while 3,339 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 950 cases, followed by Sabah with 431 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 390 cases, Johor with 378 cases and Sarawak with 255 cases.

The MInistry of Health has identified 9 new clusters today. This include Ladang Segama and Jalan Segama clusters in Sabah, Keluli Tujuh and Jalan Tengar clusters in Johor, Jalan Sebelas cluster in Selangor, Sri Petaling construction site cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Emas cluster in Negeri Sembilan, Flora construction site cluster in Putrajaya and Tembok Taiping cluster in Perak.

A total of 69 active clusters have recorded new COVID-19 cases today. The Jalan Harapan prison cluster reported the most with 138 new cases, followed by Pasar cluster with 136 cases and Bukit Sebukor construction site cluster with 89 new cases.
