COVID-19: 3,170 new cases and 12 deaths today, KL and Selangor record over 500 cases each

Malaysia has recorded 3,170 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 172,549. There are 12 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 642.

The Ministry of Health has reported 2,490 new recoveries and a total of 130,152 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 75.4% while the mortality rate is 0.4%.

There are currently 41,755 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 260 are in ICU while 103 require respiratory support.

Out of the 3,170 new cases today, 8 are imported while 3,162 are transmitted locally. Kuala Lumpur reported the most today with 576 cases, followed by Selangor with 545 cases, Johor with 423 cases and Sabah with 401 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 16 new clusters today and 11 are workplace related. Below is the list of new clusters:

A total of 84 active clusters have recorded new cases today. The Pasai cluster recorded the most with 88 cases, followed by Dutamas construction site cluster with 42 new cases and Jalan Sempadan cluster with 32 new cases.
