COVID-19: 3,339 new cases in Malaysia today, death toll now 601

Malaysia has recorded 3,339 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 158,434. There are 7 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 601.

The Ministry of Health has reported 2,676 new recoveries and a total of 120,051 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 75.8% while the mortality rate is 0.4%.

There are currently 37,782 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 240 are in ICU while 93 require respiratory support.

Out of the 3,339 new cases today, 15 are imported while 3,324 are transmitted locally. Selangor continues to record the most with 1,314 new cases, followed by Sabah with 393 cases, Johor with 362 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 334 cases and Negeri Sembilan with 236 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 10 new clusters today. This include Jalan Pandan Indah cluster in Selangor, DTI Sepang 2 cluster in Selangor, Taman Ikan Jinak cluster in Sabah, Jalan Mawila cluster in Sabah, Jalan Perak cluster in Johor, Jalan Menerung cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Yap construction site cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Rantau Lada cluster in Pahang, Pantai Peringgit cluster in Melaka and Jalan Mohammed Salleh cluster in Labuan.

A total of 86 clusters have reported new COVID-19 cases today. The Lebuh construction site cluster recorded the most with 253 cases, followed by Jalan Rantau-Siliau cluster with 96 cases and Jalan Harapan prison cluster with 94 new cases.
