Nintendo reveals Super Mario-themed Switch console, and it’s pretty neat

Nintendo has revealed what a Super Mario-themed Switch would look like. The console has red and blue features—replicating Mario’s iconic look. It will also be the first variant of the Switch console for the screen unit itself to be offered in a different colour.

The Mario Red & Blue Edition features a bold red design for the dock and system unit rather than the traditional black format. It will also feature red Joy-Con controllers, with blue straps and grips.

As a bonus, Mario Red & Blue Edition consoles also come with a matching carrying case and a screen protector. The carrying case features Mario-themed icon designs like his overalls, gloves, as well as his hat and moustache.

This version of the Switch console will be available to buy starting from 12 February 2021 for USD 299.99 (RM1,210.61) on Nintendo.com. The prices for other versions of the consoles are the same price—including the Animal Crossing-themed one.

Currently, Nintendo Switch consoles are being sold on Lazada and Shopee for slightly more hiked up prices. This might still be due to the global shortage of Switches, even though the console is now also made in Malaysia—in addition to existing locations like in China and Vietnam.
