When Apple released iPadOS 14 back in September 2020, it expanded the tablet’s support for game controllers by adding the option to control games using a keyboard, mouse or trackpad. Now, the latest version of Pascal’s Wager (version 1.6.2) on the iPad has added support for keyboard and mouse.
If you haven’t heard of Pascal’s Wager, it is basically an action role playing game set in a dark fantasy universe. Visually, the game’s visuals and art style takes inspiration from the brutally difficult Dark Souls games made by developer FromSoftware.
The single player game is said to take 20 hours to complete. Players can choose between five different characters and embark on an adventure battling monstrous enemies and challenging bosses. The game was released back in January 2020 for iOS and is noted for its stunning graphics.
Pascal’s Wager was even featured during Apple’s September 2019 Keynote where it was used to demonstrate how CPU and GPU performance of Apple’s A13 Bionic chip could deliver “console-quality” graphics on iOS devices.
A video on Reddit shows a user playing the game on an iPad with a Magic keyboard and mouse. The entire set up is remarkably similar to playing a full-fledged PC game.
The latest update also adds a new game mode that tasks players in defeating the games’ many bosses. Apart from that, there is additional content with new outfits for two characters and the developers also claim to have fixed some bugs and improved the game’s performance.
If you are curious to try your hand at the game, Pascal’s Wager is available on the App Store for RM19.90. However, to play the game with a keyboard and mouse, you will need an iPad running on iPadOS 14.
