AirAsia is kicking off the year with its Big Sale where they are offering free seats to local destinations as well as discounts for hotel bookings, baggage allowance, hot seats and inflight meals. The 7-day sale is inline with the Tourism Ministry’s efforts to revive the country’s tourism industry under the Cuti-cuti Malaysia campaign.
The sale is happening from today, 4th January until 10th January 2021 on AirAsia.com and its mobile apps on Apple App store, Google Play Store and Huawei AppGallery. The promo is applicable for the travel period from 11th January to 30th October 2021.
For the free seats, do note that the fares exclude airport tax and other applicable fees. According to AirAsia, you can fly from as low as RM12 from Johor Bahru to Ipoh and Kota Bharu, from Kuala Lumpur to Alor Setar, Johor Bahru, Kota Bharu and Kuala Terengganu, and from Penang to Kota Bharu and Langkawi.
You could potentially save more when you book your flight + accommodation through AirAsia’s Snap. A return flight combo plus a 3 days/2 night stay is said to be offered from as low as RM89 per person. If you prefer to book your accommodation separately, AirAsia is also offering up to 60% off for hotel bookings and BIG members can earn up to 5 times BIG points on every hotel booking.
The Big Sale also offers 20% discount for baggage allowance above 25kg and for hot seats bookings. You can also enjoy 10% off on inflight meals. During the sale, BIG members will also get the option to pay via BigPoints, while BigPay card users can enjoy a seamless checkout with its secure “One-click” feature.
AirAsia Malaysia CEO Riad Asmat said “2021 is a new chapter and AirAsia is ready to paint the skies red again. In support of Tourism Malaysia’s Cuti-Cuti Malaysia initiative to promote domestic travel, the airasia.com Big Sale surely offers the best value travel deals for everyone. Malaysia has so much to be discovered, from nature, heritage, culture, modern cityscape, food and much more, let’s take this opportunity to explore the best of our homeland. As we are set to welcome our guests onboard, rest assured that AirAsia has stepped up all precautionary measures by practising stringent health and hygiene procedures onboard, to ensure our guests have a safe and seamless journey.”
Since we are still in the middle of the pandemic, AirAsia assures that it has taken the necessary steps by implementing enhanced safety measures throughout the entire journey which include pre-flight, in-flight and during arrival. All guests are required to wear a face mask throughout the journey including before boarding and at the baggage claim.
