Malaysia has recorded 1,704 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 119,077. There are 11 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 494.
The Ministry of Health has reported 2,726 new recoveries and a total of 97,218 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 81.6% while the mortality rate is now 0.4%.
There are currently 21,365 active COVID-19 cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 124 are in ICU while 51 require respiratory support.
Out of the 1,704 new cases today, 5 are imported while 1,699 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 673 new cases, followed by Sabah with 316 cases, Johor with 179 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 112 cases and Penang with 103 new cases.
The Ministry of Health has identified 9 new clusters today. This include Lintas Seraya cluster in Sabah, Perdana Avenue construction site cluster in Selangor, Osmo Jaya cluster in Selangor, Belati cluster in Johor, Wawasan Gading in Johor, Rengit Sentral in Johor, Manik cluster which covers Kelantan and Terengganu, Paloh Tumpat cluster in Kelantan and Stutong cluster in Sarawak.
A total of 59 active clusters have recorded new COVID-19 cases today. The Kebun Baru cluster recorded the most with 89 cases, followed by Beringin cluster with 82 cases, Jalan Harapan prison cluster with 56 new cases and Sungai Putus cluster with 56 cases.
