Malaysia has recorded 2,068 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 115,078. There are 3 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 474.
The Ministry of Health has reported 2,230 new recoveries and a total of 91,171 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 79.2% while the mortality rate is now 0.4%.
There are currently 23,433 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 126 are in ICU while 54 require respiratory support.
Out of the 2,068 new cases today, 2 are imported while 2,066 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 776 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 457 cases, Sabah with 254 cases and Penang with 226 cases.
The Ministry has identified 3 new clusters today. This include Rawa Akasia cluster in Penang, Jalan Perindustrian cluster in Johor and Rantau Semarak cluster which covers Pahang and Selangor.
A total of 54 active clusters have recorded new COVID-19 cases today. The Metropolis construction site cluster reported the most with 153 cases, followed by the newly identified Rawa Akasia cluster with 110 cases and Residen construction site cluster with 91 cases.
