Galaxy S21 Ultra: This is probably where Samsung wants you to keep the S Pen

The Samsung Galaxy S21 series is expected to launch in less than 3 weeks time and the leaks just keep on coming. For the top-of-the-line Galaxy S21 Ultra, it will be the first Galaxy S flagship to support the S Pen. Since this isn’t the Note series, there’s no silo on the phone for you to keep the S Pen.

Serial leakster Ishan Agarwal has dropped a couple of clear renders of the official Samsung cases which seems to provide the first clue of where you could keep the S Pen stylus. He has shared high resolution images through MySmartPrice.

As seen in several leaks earlier, the Galaxy S21 comes with a rather unique camera bump that flows seamlessly to its side frame. For those who prefer a cleaner look, it appears that Samsung has a couple of case options which hides the protruding camera bump.

As usual, Samsung continues to provide a variety of cases for the S21 including a Silicon Case, Leather Cover and the Protective Standing Cover. There’s also a Clear View Cover which has a transparent window to provide a glimpse of your phone’s notifications.

As pointed out by Ishan Agarwal, the Clear View Case for the Galaxy S21 Ultra appears to be wider than usual. He hinted that the design allows the case to house the S Pen. When we did a side by side comparison versus the Galaxy S21 or S21+ folio cases, the S21 Ultra’s Clear View Case is definitely wider than the silicon case which seems to be enough to fit an S Pen.

Unfortunately, we don’t have a visual confirmation of the S Pen holder on the inside. From the looks of it, the clear case is likely to feature a slot in the middle similar to what you’ll find with a typical diary or planner with a centre-mounted pen holder. Perhaps the stylus could be secured via magnets which makes it easier to remove when it’s needed.

The S Pen is expected to be offered as an optional add-on for the S21 Ultra. There’s also a possibility that Samsung might include it for free during its pre-order campaign.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 series is expected to launch on 14th January 2021. Since Malaysia is a key market, pre-orders are likely to start almost immediately after the global event.
