COVID-19: 1,870 new cases today, Johor reported the most with 607 cases

Malaysia has recorded 1,870 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 110,485. There are 6 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 463.

The Ministry of Health has reported 745 new recoveries and a total of 87,460 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 79.2% while the mortality rate is now 0.4%.

There are currently 22,562 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 131 are in ICU while 62 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,870 new COVID-19 cases reported today, 2 are imported while 1,868 are transmitted locally. Johor reported the most with 607 new cases, followed by Selangor with 472 cases, Sabah with 280 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 219 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 8 new clusters today. This include Tembok Choh in Johor, Broga construction site cluster in Selangor, Jalan Stesen construction site cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Berjaya Slot cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Nikolas cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Gerbang Pangsu cluster in Perak, Damai Ketari cluster in Pahang and Alor cluster in Kedah.

A total of 53 active clusters have recorded the new cases today. The newly identified Tembok Choh cluster in Johor reported the most with 374 new cases, followed by Tampoi Jaya cluster with 138 cases and Beringin cluster with 61 new cases.
