Malaysia has recorded 1,196 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 105,096. There is one new death reported and the death toll is now 452.
The Ministry of Health has reported 997 new recoveries and a total of 84,411 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 80.3% while the mortality rate is now 0.4%.
There are currently 20,233 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 111 are in ICU while 50 require respiratory support.
Out of the 1,196 new cases today, 5 are imported while 1,191 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 392 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 202 cases, Johor with 194 cases and Sabah with 186 cases.
The Ministry of Health has identified one new cluster today. The Jalan Sedco cluster is the sole new cluster which is identified in Sabah.
There are a total of 45 new clusters that have reported new COVID-19 cases today. The Tampoi Jaya cluster recorded the most with 78 new cases, followed by Jalan Stadium construction site cluster with 63 new cases and Beringin cluster with 30 new cases.
