COVID-19: 1,247 new cases with 608 in the Klang Valley, 1,441 new recoveries reported today

Malaysia has recorded 1,247 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 101,565. There are 3 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 449.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,441 new recoveries and a total of 82,540 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 81.3% while the mortality rate is now 0.4%.

There are currently 18,576 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 108 are in ICU while 47 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,247 new cases today, 2 are imported while 1,245 are transmitted locally. Selangor continues to record the most with 461 new COVID-19 cases, followed by Sabah with 225 new cases, Johor with 205 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 140 cases and Negeri Sembilan with 89 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 4 new clusters today. This include Cassia Diamond cluster which covers Selangor and Pulau Pinang, Pompod cluster in Sabah, Kiara construction site cluster and Perkasa construction site cluster in Kuala Lumpur.

A total of 50 active clusters have recorded new cases today. The Tembok Gajah cluster recorded the most with 113 new clusters, followed by Jalan Harapan prison cluster with 86 cases and Puncak Galaksi cluster with 51 cases.
