11 arrested in KL for involvement in Macau Scam and online gambling syndicate

The police have busted a Macau Scam and online gambling syndicate that has been operating in Kuala Lumpur. The Malay Mail reported that police have arrested 11 individuals, including four Chinese nationals, during the three raids that were conducted around the capital city.

Dang Wangi District Police chief ACP Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said the first raid saw the arrest of three Chinese men, aged between 28 and 34, at a condominium in Jalan Doraisamy, located off Jalan Sultan Ismail.

During the raid, police seized 40 mobile phones of various brands, two computers as well as cash consisting of CNY 1,168 (RM726) and RM5,011. According to the police investigations, they found that the syndicate was carrying out the Macau Scam. All arrested individuals were remanded until 25 December for further investigation.
