Before 2020 is out, Xiaomi is having one final major product launch to unveil its new Xiaomi Mi 11 flagship smartphone. This expected to be the world’s first Snapdragon 888 device that boasts a significant performance upgrade from the current Snapdragon 865+ processor.
The teaser hinted more surprises beyond imagination with new technological breakthroughs. It also mentions more attention to detail which hints a premium design for the new phone. The launch is happening at 7:30pm on 28th December 2020.
A couple of weeks ago, images of the Mi 11 have surfaced online and it appears that Xiaomi is ramping up production for its January 2021 release. It is speculated to come with a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL sensor which is said to be the same camera sensor as the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
The Mi 11 Pro model is expected to feature a large 5,000mAh battery that comes in a dual-cell design with support for 55W fast wired charging.
Based on a recent leak, the screen of the Mi 11 is said to be using a 6.67″ panel that pushes a Quad HD+ resolution of 2560×1600 pixels. Meanwhile, the Pro version is slightly bigger with a 6.76″ screen. As shown above, the display appears to be curved around the edges and there are no punch-hole or notches. For selfies, it is likely that Xiaomi will be using an under-screen camera technology to hide its front camera when it is not in use.
So far there are no details on the pricing but based on the current Mi 10 series, it could hover around the RM3,000-RM4,000 range. If you don’t need the latest specs, the Xiaomi Mi 10T series powered by a Snapdragon 865 is quite competitive and it starts from RM1,699 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model.
