COVID-19: 1,340 new cases, today, over 700 reported in Klang Valley

Malaysia has recorded 1,340 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 93,309. There are 4 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 437.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,067 new recoveries and a total of 77,309 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 82.9% while the mortality rate is now 0.47%.

There are currently 15,563 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 116 are in ICU while 57 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,340 new COVID-19 cases today, 3 are imported while 1,337 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 441 new cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 284 cases, Sabah with 196 cases, Negeri Sembilan with 169 cases and Johor with 156 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 3 new clusters today. This include Metropolis construction site cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Estate Maju cluster in Sabah and Batu 39 cluster in Johor.

A total of 44 active clusters have recorded new cases today. The newly identified Metropolis cluster recorded the most with 140 cases, followed by Ceram cluster with 107 cases and Jalan Harapan prison cluster with 58 new cases.
