COVID-19: New cases drop to 1,229 today, 566 reported in the Klang Valley

Malaysia has recorded 1,229 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 83,475. There are 4 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 415.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,309 new recoveries and a total of 69,393 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 83.1% while the mortality rate is now 0.5%.

There are currently 13,667 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 115 are in ICU while 65 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,229 new COVID-19 cases today, 2 are imported while 1,227 are transmitted locally.

Selangor records the most number of new cases at 435, followed by Sabah with 333 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 131 cases, Perak with 105 cases and Johor with 103 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 6 new clusters today. This include Hujung Pasir cluster in Labuan, Lestari cluster which covers Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, Desa Idaman cluster in Johor, Rimbun construction site cluster in Negeri Sembilan, Tanjung Suria cluster in Selangor and Kuala cluster in Pahang.

A total of 52 clusters have recorded new COVID-19 cases today. The Tembok cluster recorded the most with 103 cases, followed by Seruling cluster with 93 cases and Rumah Merah cluster with 78 cases.
