HP Omen 15 with refreshed design now available in Malaysia, priced from RM4,439

HP has launched its latest Omen 15 gaming laptop in Malaysia over a Facebook Live event. The latest iteration of HP’s gaming laptop was launched alongside other Omen branded accessories including a gaming chair and monitor.

Price and availability

The HP Omen 15 is available now in Malaysia with prices starting from RM4,439. Based on information from the HP Online Store, the base model comes with the following specs:

  • 10th Gen Intel Core i5-10300H
  • 8GB DDR4-2933 SDRAM
  • 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX1650
  • 15.6″ FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS, 300 nits, 72% NTSC

HP states that the Omen 15 comes with two years of local on site warranty and is inclusive of one year limited international warranty.

In addition, it comes with a free e-wallet voucher worth RM100. The new Omen 15 is available from the HP Online Store as well as selected online store partners including Lazada and Shopee.

Features

The Omen 15 can be configured with up to a 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10750H processor that can be paired up to 32GB DDR-2933 SDRAM. As for storage, you can choose to equip the Omen 15 with up to two 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD with Raid 0 configured.

Graphics-wise, gamers can opt up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super with MAX-Q Design.

Gamers will find that the Omen 15 comes with plenty of connectivity options, it boasts three USB-Type A ports, one USB-Type C port, an HDMI 2.0a and mini DisplayPort for video output, an Ethernet jack, a SD card reader and audio combo jack. Apart from that you also get WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.

The Omen 15 sports a 15.6″ display though HP lists seven different configurations to choose from. This ranges from a Full HD IPS display rated with a 300 nit brightness with 72% NTSC all the way up to a 4K AMOLED display with HDR support and TUV Low Blue Light. Competitive gamers that prefer a blur-free gaming experience can opt for a Full HD IPS display with a 300Hz refresh rate.

On the outside, the laptop sports a redesigned chassis with a new diamond shaped Omen logo adorning the lid. It is also said to boast a smaller footprint compared to its predecessor. According to HP the laptop weighs from 2.36kg and measures 22.5mm thick.

You get a full-size island style keyboard with the option for one or four-zone island-style RGB lighting. The WASD keys are also outlined to help them standout and easier to reach for in the heat of virtual battles.

To help power the Omen 15, it can be outfitted up to a 70.9Wh battery. HP did not release details as to how long the battery can last, but we do know that it comes with support for fast charging, promising to charge it back up to 50% in just 45 minutes.

Lastly, to take video calls both at home and on the go, it has an HP Wide Vision HD camera with integrated dual array digital microphone.
