PLUS reminds motorists to follow these tips as interstate travel is now permitted

Malaysia is lifting interdistrict and interstate travel restrictions starting from Monday, the 7th December 2020 except for areas that are placed under Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO). PLUS Malaysia, the operator of the North South Expressway, has issued a reminder to all motorists that are planning to hit the highway to travel to other states.

Download the PLUS app

Before you start your journey, PLUS recommends downloading the PLUS app which is available on both Android and iOS. The app will let you know the toll rate at your destination and it also allows you to pre-order your food at selected R&Rs along the highway. If you need assistance, you can connect to PLUSRonda or chat with PUTRI, its AI-based highway chatbot., from the app itself.

Top up your Touch ‘n Go Card before you start your journey

As we are still in the middle of a pandemic, motorists are urged to go cashless and to top up their Touch ‘n Go card with sufficient balance. Although RFID is available at selected toll plazas, the physical TNG card is still the most accepted payment method at the moment. By going cashless and contactless, you are doing your part to help in flattening the curve by reducing the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

Wear a face mask and practice social distancing

PLUS highway users can take a break and buy refreshments at 29 Rest and Service areas (R&R) and Overhead Bridge Restaurants (OBR), and 50 lay-bys. When visiting these public areas, you are advised to comply with the SOPs which include wearing face masks, practicing physical distancing, using hand sanitisers and check-in via MySejahtera.

PLUS encourages its highway customers to travel responsibly and to get the latest status and updates from the National Security Council or the MySejahtera app.

PLUS’ highway covers a distance of 1,130km and it is served by 17 sections under 4 regions. There are a total of 572 PLUSRonda and highway safety crew on site to ensure that your journey is safe and comfortable.
