COVID-19: 1,335 new cases today, Selangor has the most with 337 cases

Malaysia has recorded 1,335 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 72,694. There are 2 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 382.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,069 new recoveries and a total of 61,273 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 84.3% while the mortality rate is now 0.5%.

There are currently 11,039 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 126 are in ICU while 57 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,335 new COVID-19 cases today, 3 are imported while 1,332 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 337 cases, followed by Negeri Sembilan with 258 cases, Sabah with 250 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 178 cases.

According to the Ministry of Health, 3 new clusters have been identified. This include Ceram cluster in Negeri Sembilan, Pulau Berhala cluster in Sabah and Jalan Tampoi cluster in Johor.

A total of 49 active clusters have reported new cases today. The newly identified Ceram cluster recorded the most today with 155 new cases, followed by Jalan Harapan prison cluster with 141 cases, Cergas cluster with 92 cases and Tembok cluster with 92 new cases.
