COVID-19: 1,212 new cases today, Selangor recorded the most with 402 new cases

Malaysia has recorded 1,212 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 65,697. There are 3 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 360.

The Ministry of Health has reported 2,112 new recoveries and a total of 54,759 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 83.4% while the mortality rate is now 0.6%.

There are currently 10,578 active COVID-19 cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 113 are in ICU while 42 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,212 new cases today, 9 are imported while 1,203 are transmitted locally. Selangor records the most with 402 new cases, followed by Sabah with 326 new cases and Negeri Sembilan with 141 new cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 3 new clusters today which accumulatively recorded 54 new cases. This include Jalan Lapan cluster in Kuala Lumpur, Batu Sembilan cluster in Selangor and Nibong cluster in Johor.

The Perigi cluster in Selangor recorded the most with 153 new cases, followed by the Bintang cluster (Selangor and KL) with 71 new cases, Cergas cluster (Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan and Selangor) with 66 new cases and PTS Sibuga cluster (Sabah) with 65 new cases.
