Malaysia has recorded 1,315 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 63,176. There are 4 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 354.
The Ministry of Health has reported 1,110 new recoveries and a total of 51,314 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 81.2% while the mortality rate is now 0.56%.
There are currently 11,508 active COVID-19 cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 118 are in ICU while 43 require respiratory support.
Out of the 1,315 new cases today, 5 are imported while 1,310 are transmitted locally. Sabah recorded the most with 476 cases, followed by Selangor with 266 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 191 cases and Perak with 167 cases. No new cases were reported in Labuan, Sarawak, Pahang, Terengganu, Putrajaya and Perlis today.
The Ministry of Health has identified 6 new clusters today and 4 are located in Sabah. This include PTS Sibuga cluster in Sandakan, Jesselton construction site in Kota Kinabalu, Dermaga cluster in Sandakan and Tempasuk cluster in Kota Belud. In the Klang Valley, there are 2 new clusters namely UD SS2 in and Awan Baru construction site which covers Kepong and Cheras.
A total of 44 active clusters have reported new cases today. The Enggor cluster recorded the most with 126 new cases, followed by Teratai cluster with 90 cases and Bintang cluster with 71 cases.
