Malaysia has recorded 2,188 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 58,847. There are 4 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 341.
The Ministry of Health has reported 1,673 new recoveries and a total of 44,153 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 75% while the mortality rate is now 0.6%.
There are currently 14,353 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 112 are in ICU while 49 require respiratory support.
All 2,188 new COVID-19 cases reported today are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,623 new cases, followed by Sabah with 232 cases, Perak with 112 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 90 cases and Negeri Sembilan with 73 new cases.
According to the Ministry of Health, a total of 36 active clusters have recorded new cases today. Teratai cluster in the Klang Valley recorded the most with 1,511 new cases, followed by Tembok cluster in Perak and Kedah with 103 new cases and Bintang cluster in Kuala Lumpur with 69 new cases.
