COVID-19: New cases drop to 958 today, 512 reported in Sabah

Malaysia has recorded 958 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 52,638. There are 3 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 329.

The Ministry of Health has reported 956 new recoveries and a total of 39,088 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 74.3% while the mortality rate is now 0.6%.

There are currently 13,221 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 110 are in ICU while 42 require respiratory support.

Out of the 958 new COVID-19 cases today, 5 are imported while 953 are transmitted locally. Sabah recorded the most with 512 cases, followed by Selangor and Negeri Sembilan with 153 cases reported in each state and Kuala Lumpur with 46 cases.

The Ministry has identified 5 new clusters today. This include Kasir cluster in Tawau, Sabah, Sri Jujur cluster in Selangor, OAD cluster in Negeri Sembilan, Enggor cluster in Perak and Makmur cluster in Johor.

A total of 47 active clusters have reported new cases today. The Sabaru cluster recorded the most with 149 new cases, followed by Hentian cluster with 107 cases and Perigi cluster with 50 cases.
